The color of evening

Before the sun sets in the west
the sky in the east, out along the horizon

also goes pink and green, yellow and blue

And the ocean my wife is swimming in

becomes a lighter luminescent, wide plane
tinged with those colors

a pale reflective wash rippled
with all the colors of the sky

Difficult to paint truly
easy to see

with wonder
