A Red Shoe Dance

I painted my shoes red So they’d be more comfortable And ran through the streets Crying “somebody help me Please”

But no one pays much attention These days To fancy footwear

You can whirl and twirl And maybe even be pretty For a time But sooner or later Those shoes will get ya

Dance little girl, dance

Silver spoons And velvet Elvis’ spin past Round and round Under the big top we go It’s a crazy ride And we laugh til we puke Soon it’s over And we’re back in the funhouse again Skeletons grin back As we slog through the maze

Red shoes ya Gimme gimme gimme More of the red
