Storm Clouds in Florida

And now it comes. That storm cloud that I’ve been watching Is here.

It flashes and glows Showing me its Dark interior And I’m waiting For the rain to come For the hail The lightening And the destruction That it’s sure to bring.

From far away It looked beautiful To me White and puffy Like the Innocent dream Of a child.

And I am lulled Into believing That storm clouds Hold no threat At such a distance.

Now it Threatens to rage Overhead And destroy All that I cherish All that I hold dear All my hopes Washed away.

I can’t run from it I can’t hide from it There is no escaping The deluge That hangs Over me.

I can only pray That a holy wind Blow it back And keep me safe.
