Create a common (or uncommon) 2 or 3 word phrase in the boxes below. Or select a phrase using one of the PHRASE buttons below the PLAY button.
To create your WODIFF challenge, letters that appear in more than one word will be removed to create a unique WODIFF word phrase challenge. All 2 or 3 word phrases are potential unique WODIFF challenges. The best ones – players can rate them after each game – will always be available using the SEE PHRASE RATINGS button. We hope you will help us discover and rate new WODIFF word phrase challenges. Can you beat the highest score? If you already did, can you remember the words you used and do it again? Or find a way to beat that high score?
WODIFF Word Challenges. Easy to remember. Easy to replay.
Below the PLAY button are SEE PHRASE RATINGS (a database query) and FIND PHRASES (a search). The results of both include clickable phrase buttons that bring the phrase into the game so you can just press PLAY.
To improve your score create words that use letters more than once. Single letter words are accepted, but not if they’re left as the last letter. A single letter on the letter button line, ends the game. Also, watch your balance of consonants and vowels. If you run out of either, you probably won’t be able to make another word. Finally, we’re using an open source “scrabble” dictionary. If you have only two letters left, e. g. a T and a U, you might want to know, or test and learn, that UT is accepted as a word (check and you will even find it in the online Merriam-Webster dictionary).
WORD DIFFERENCE – the technical term for how WODIFF converts a 2 or 3 word phrase into an easily recreated set of WODIFF puzzle letters is “symmetric difference” which results in a new set containing all elements that are in either set, but not in both.
Each letter below is a button that dims when pressed so you can easily see which letters you’re using and which are still unused. Dimmed letter buttons are still active. The icon with an x is a backspace. Letters are removed when they are used in a successful word.
