big moon

I walked out to see
the big moon
through branches
and wires
and then clear sky

pulsing out there
a glowing image
of unique dry scapes

and I felt my small self
on its surface
remembered
photos and images
of moon lands
and could feel myself
there
a tiny existence
experiencing its vast
distances
its journeys
and its strangeness

and similar barren lands
down here
endless rocks
dry mountains  boulders  cliffs
and waterless landscapes

how friendly
these places I walk through
peopled by plants
